Speech Therapy
引言:
學習語言是一項很複雜的事,專注力、智力、聽覺、口腔結構、神經系統的發展和環境所提供的機會,都可以影響溝通能力的發展。智障兒童因着智力及身體機能的限制,一般來說,溝通能力都會受到影響。
本校言語治療組為學生提供言語治療服務,以提昇學生的整體溝通能力。
Introduction:
Learning language is complicated. The environment, opportunity for development of attention, intelligence, audiology, oral structure and nervous system will all contribute to the development of communication skills. Children with intellectual disability are limited by their cognitive and physical functions and their communication skills will also be affected.
Our speech therapists provide services to our students for enhancing students’ communication skills.
工作目標:
提昇學生整體溝通及口肌能力。
提高教職員及家長與學生溝通的技巧及對言語治療的認識。
教導教職員及家長訓練學生的策略。
Goals:
To enhance students’ overall communication skills and oral-motor skills
To enhance staffs' and parents’ communication skills with students and the understanding of speech therapy
To provide training strategies for parents and staffs
言語訓練:
評估學生的溝通能力,包括:言語理解及表達、語言前溝通技巧、發音、聲線、說話流暢度、口腔肌肉功能及吞嚥功能等。
給予針對性的治療,根據學生不同的能力和需要,安排個別或小組訓練及課堂輔導,並提供家課練習和家長訓練。
舉行全校性活動,增加學生類化溝通技巧的機會,以及提昇溝通動機。
Speech and Language Training:
Students’ communication skills will be assessed, including “receptive and expressive language skills”, “pre-linguistic skills”, “articulation”, “voice”, “fluency”, “oral-motor skills”, “swallowing” etc.
According to students’ abilities and needs, specific therapy is targeted. Individual or group training and collaborative teaching between speech therapists and teachers are arranged. Homework and parents’ training are also given.
School activities are organized, in order to increase the opportunity of generalization and motivation in communication.
專業支援:
定期舉辦專題講座及工作坊,加強家長及老師對學生溝通、吞嚥能力及訓練技巧之認識。
與老師合作,在有需要的時候給予建議,務求增加學生在不同場合下的訓練機會。
提供家長支援,家長在日常生活中與學生溝通遇到任何困難,可隨時聯絡治療師,治療師會給予意見和協助。
Professional Supports:
Educational talks and workshops are organized, to strengthen parents’ and teachers’ understanding of students’ communication and swallowing skills, and suggest suitable training strategies.
Collaboration with teachers, to give advice when needed, in order to increase the communication opportunities for students in different situations.
Provide parent support. Provide suggestions when parents face communication breakdown with students.
